Dear Father and mother

I let you
know that i am
well at present time
and hoping that these
few lines may find
you all in the same
state of good health
and further i let
you no that i received
your letter that you
wrote too franklin
and i let you no
that frank is sick
[                ] aboud too weeks
[                 ] i dident see him
[                  ] abound a [?] week i
[                ] [...nt?] no where he is
[               ] i think they sent
[            ] home as soon as they
can

for they sent all them
home that gits sick
and you stated in your
letter that Christian
Gross wrote him that
i was wounded and
John Gross and the
Bingmans and that
is not so for i am
well yet and like it

belife any sings that
Christ Gross write home
for he is the bigest
lier in virginia
and i let you no
that we was in [             ]
battle the 5 of May [        ]
a good many gid [            ]
and wounded but [            ]
only too out of [ar?] [      ]
