Camp nere worktown

Dear father and Mother

I now sed
my self down to write a few
lines to let you no that we
are all well at present and
hoping that these few lines may
find you all in the same state
of good health and further i
let you no that we recevid
your letter yesterday and we was
very glat to here from you again
and I let you no that we are
not more as aboud one mile from
the reples any more we did take
to the reples when we was on
picked gard and i did see there
camps and flags and every sings
that i want to see and they
fired at us like hell and we
fired and [crossed out ] once and sho[crossed out] shot aboud
thirty of them i exbect we git a hard

days but we are not quite
rety yet but i exbect aboud

comense and i let you no that

and i dunt sing we will
till the war is over and

and worme weter here most too
worme somtimes but i hope we
can com home till next fall
and further i let you no that
i would like to have postage
stamp for fifty cent and if
you plese sent them in the
next letter for we cant git any

have no money and the half letters dunt
go if we dunt pay them and
write soon[crossed out] soon this is all at present
