Williamsburg Dec. 30th 1859
Dear Elizabeth
                    The neglect of your letter has been
unintentionial & neither from want of affectionate interest or [?]  [?]  [?]
Is your note, which tear [?] up.  Sign the enclose receipt, & send it.  Do
not think my not seeing you in Georgetown ? not going to see you was
the result of indifference.  The 11 dollar was in Mother’s purse, and
was reserved by her for her private expenses.  Did Ann get
the breast pin I sent her by Adam’s.  Especially intended
for  Mother’s hair, & bought with part of the same money?  If
not tell her to inquire at the  [?] office.
Was sent from Baltimore.  Give my love to her & family, as well
as to Cousin Francis.  How long Becca will stay at [?] [?] is
somewhat more than I can guess.  [?] well & sends her [?].  Write
on receiving this & h___? Me to her.
