If you see Pa tell him to come and see
me as I would like to see him. John has
got a first strate company and I think I
would like to go out with the regiment he
belongs to. I had a nice visit to the folkes
at Sing Sing. They all treated me first
strate nothing was to good for me. I would
have liked to have staid longer but my
pass would not let me. I would like
to come out home again, if I could, be-
fore I leave for the seat of war, but I can
not tell wether I can or not. I do not
see the youse of keeping me hear caged
up like a convict on Blackwell's Island.
They may think it is a big thing but I can
not see it. But paper is scarse and I must
close by hopping these fiew lines will
