My dearest Son. Yr Answer arrived late last Night to my great astonishment, as I really hardly could believe that my letter had reached You. I have had my interview with lady C. & fairly told Her of the accidental Conversation which happened in my room on Sunday Night, as also are mark of the unclear which I forgot to mention to You, how highly He approved of ldy Willoughby & Her Conduct in never having attempted to present Miss Dertie until he was married & He agreed with me that after this it would be improper to think of Presenting Miss Seimour. That is all that passed between her & me upon the Subject, for as we understod me another perfectly well I thought it better to drop that Subject.
