    Dear Sir,
We enclose you herein a copy of
a letter from Mr. P. V. Daniel, President of the Richmnond
F &7 P Ry Company, received by us on the 18th inst:
Since the date of that letter we have received, as you are
probably aware from our communication to you of the
1st inst, a letter from Mr. MacMurdo handing us a
remittance to pay the interest due 1 Jany last on the
Sterling Bonds.   There still therefore remains 1 yrs interest
unpaid on the 7 pr Cent Domestic Bonds.   We do
not intend to advance this Interest, but await
the progress of events, & trust the difficulty of
communication may soon cease.
We reply to Mr Daniel’s letter via Mexico, but
should you find any means of communicating with
him we should be much obliged by your doing so, as

also for any other assistance in the matter
you might be able to render us.
        We are, Dear Sir,
        Yours faithfully
        Thomas Hankey & Co
