My dearest son. I can not think of going to rest before I have Congratulated You upon the most Important underlined Great News /underlined You could Possibly receive. Most truely can I enter into your Feeling upon this Occasion, for a more wearing & Critical moment addition never /addition did exist, deletion than /deletion ever Since the War begun, than the Present & I have pityed you Sincerely ever Since I was in Town when You kept Your Bed. Thank God that all is overcome now, & that no Party has failed to do their Duty & to stick to their Engagement. Much is still to be done, but The Hand of Providence has so Wisely directed all things & stood by Us at a moment when so much was to be feared, that I have a firm Confidence
