Dear Father and mother
and this[crossed out] sister and
brothers

I now seat
my self down to
rite a few lines to
let you no that we
are all well at present
time and hoping that
these few lines may
find you all in the same
state of good health
and further i let
you no that we
received that box and
we I[crossed out] was very glat
for it and we received
your letter and we
was glat to here from

we have auful weter
here now nonthing but
rain and snow for
aboud three or fore
weeks and i sing
that we ar going
on a fleet before ong
and we sent a box
with over coats and
i put too likenes
in and take good
care of them for one
is our generel and
one is McClelan
and let us no as
soon as you git that

i sent ten dollers
