Sir I have delayed returning you my sincerest and best thanks for the £20 received here and for underline all favours /underline in hopes of telling you I am on my way to join the Stafford Supplementary.
I had a letter from Col.l Elliot dated the 27th of July desiring me to hold myself in hourly readiness to join him,.That I should hear from him the moment he heard from Lord Uxbridge, to whom he had sent my name for approval, underline That post /underline since which, I have never heard a word, but another vacancy,has occur'd.
