II. redeem'd ye. property of this Island, but as ye. purchase ^ addition underline money /underline /addition was not paid Ld. Carlisle accepted a perpetual pension in lieu of it which is now dissended to Ld. Kinnoal, & in 1663. an Act of ye. Barbadoes assembly pass'd, to remove all exactions, & settle a revenue for ye. support of ye. Government & fortifications of 4 1/2 per Cent in Specie, upon all ye. Lead produce exported; ye. above mention'd pension appears to have been then fix'd of this revenue, & this 4 1/2 per Cent became part of K. W. Civil List; but when Q. A. Civil List was under Consideration, ye. Barbadoes Merchants apply'd to Parl. setting forth yt. this Revenue was not apply'd to ye. purposes for which it had been first granted, & yt. ye. Island was in great danger, from ye. bad State of ye. fortification; upon which ye. Parl. not only excepted this Revenue expressly in ye. Act, from ye. other Civil List funds, but also address'd
