1 On Turnep-Rooted Cabbage Extractid from Transactions of the Society of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce.

The Premium addition underline of a Gold Medal /underline /addition offered for the Cultivation of Turnep-Rooted Cabbage ni 1782. for the feeding Cattle or Sheep on the greatest number of Acres, not less than ten, and giving an account of the Soil, Culture, Time, and manner of feeding off, produce, and the effects on Cattle, or Sheep fed with it; deletion of a Gold Medal. /deletion

A Silver Medal for the next greatest number not less than five Acres. Certificates of the quantity of Land, with the Accounts to be produced on or before the last Tuesday in October 1783.

The Gold Medal offered to the Person who shall raise in 1782. the greatest quantity per Acre of Turneps- Rooted Cabbage, on not less than one Acre.

Certificates of the number of acres, and produce by weight, free from leaves and skirt, and before housing, with an account of the Soil, preparation, and culture to be produced on or before the first Tuesday in November 1783.

The Same Premium extended one year further; the quantity of land not to less than four Acres. Certificates to be produced on or before the first Tuesday in November 1784.

Twenty Pounds being the Premium offered for Cultivating Turnep-rooted Cabbage, was adjudged to Mr. Lewen Tug well of Beverstone, in Gloucestershire in 1777.

Extract of his letter to Mr. Moore Oct. 15th. 1777. Last year I was successful in cultivating the Turneps-rooted Cabbage for the raising of which, the Society offers a premium of twenty Pounds. My field is about thirteen Acres, upwards of two of which was exceedingly good in its kind.
