Tax was laid on exportation, ye. Dutch & French bought English Coals cheaper than many of the Natives could. ye. 4th. Act continued yt. ^ addition the unclear Act /addition of ye 6th. & 7th. of W. & M. Cap.7. to May 1701. & applied ye. duty to ye. Same purpose.

ye. 5th. Act continued the Tonnage & Poundage of the last Session Cap.23. for the King's life to make good with the other Revenue Branches appropriated for that purpose formerly a Civil List of £700,000. with proviso yt. if ye. Civil List duties Produc'd more than yt. yearly Sum ye. overplus was to be in ye. disposition of Parl. & at this time no provision was made for difficiences.

By ye. 7th. further duties are laid on Vellum, Parchment & Paper to continue for ever from ye. 1st. of Aug. 1698.

By ye. 8th. ye. duties granted on Hawkers & c. Cap. 24. of last Sess. was continued to catchword June /catchword
