Cap. were abolish & in lieu there of an additional duty of 3d. per pound Weight was laid on Whale fins imported by ^ addition ships of /addition ye. Greenland Company & 6d. imported by other Ships, & likewise a duty of 10s. on every 120. Ells of Scotch Linnen Twill & 6s & 8d. on every 120. Ells Scotch Ticking all which additional duties were to continue for 8s. addition years /addition from ye. 10th. of July 1698. & appropriated to ye. same purposes ye. abolish'd duties had been.
We shall now put an abstract of ye. Supplies voted for this year & ye. provisions made by which it will appear yt. there was a great difficiency in ye. latter; & it is remarkable yt. tho' ye. Commons had experienc'd ye. uncertainty of rasing money except by a Land tax yet upon voting ye. 3s. in ye. Pound they came to a resolution catchword to /catchword
