We may observe then there was £10,066,777. borrow'd from Nov. 5th. 1688. to Ly. day 1702. more than was in yt. time repaid by ye. funds establish'd for yt. purpose which was nearly ye. whole of ye. debt due at yt. time, as most of ye. arrears of ye. Army & Navy were charg'd on ye. Irish forfeitures; of this Sum therefore above £2,300,000. arose from deficiencies of ye. funds allotted for payment of ye. prinicipal & interest, as will appear catchword from /catchword
