Dear Lizzy –

                                                                  Enclosed

are 15 Dollr-  By what you think proper

for Mrs [? ?] of her children.  As I wrote

to you a day or two ago, you must not

expect much of a letter now.  Write,

& inform me if you get this letter, &

the money in it.  If you have

a larger sum than you need, give

the surplus to your mother.  It

is [no?] kindness to give her [much?] &

if you have more than 5 Dollr, do not

exceed it.  nor even come up to it – As

to your returning, were it not that I think

it right for you to spend some of your time

with your mother, & relatives in York, I [would]

have written for you several weeks ago -

With my kindest remembrances, as well

to your mother, as Aunts, I remain

very affectionately-
