Williamsburg  March 5th 1866

My Dear Elizabeth
                                    It
was my intention to write a long letter
to you but I find I have not enough
time, & be [?] of the mail.  The climate
is about as healthy here as it is
any where I think.            At
any rate beggars cannot be the
choosers in these times.  Becca is
well.  [that?] is tolerably.   How
is your health.  Do not [.....uple]
about the enclosed.      It is an
account.  I do not need it.  Things
are gloomy here enough, but not
beyond what was to be expected after
such a convulsion.  Give my love
to Cousin Frances & believe me to
remain
                 Your affectionate
                             Benj. S. Ewell
