George II. by the Grace of God, King of Great Britain, France & Ireland, Defender of the Faith, Duke of Bronsvic Lundbury, Arch Treasurer of the holy Roman Empire and Elector Whereas we well remember, that we, moved by very good reasons, have by our Codicil, bearing date Kensington Oct ye 6th 1757. recalled and annulled, the Legacies left, by Our Will, made at Our Palace at St. James April ye 3/14th 1751., and namely by its 3d. 4th 5th 6th & 7th Articles, to Our Son William Duke of Cumberland: We think fit to declare, as hereby we expressly do declare, that those reasons, which moved us, were then, nor are now, no others, than that Our Funds & Stocks were exhausted, and that Our German Dominions & Our Subjects themselves, were by the unhappy times, for the greatest part & for a long time to come, disabled from making the usual contributions.

Yet that we may give to the said Our Son who has allways behaved to us as a good & dutyfull Son, a testimony of our paternal tenderness & affection: and as, since the making of our Will bearing date April ye 3/14. 1751., the Death of three of our Daughters
