George the Second, by the Grace of God, King of Great Britain, France, and Ireland, Defender of the Faith &c unclear. To our dearly beloved Son William Duke of Cumberland. Greeting: We reposing especial Trust and Confidence in your Loyalty, Courage and good Conduct, do, by these presents constitute and appoint you to be Colonel of Our Second Regiment of Foot Guards, called the Coldstream, whereof Richard Earl of Scarborough deceased was late Colonel image image image image image image image image and likewise to be Captain of a Company in Our said Regiment.
