Lady Mary FitzClarence was born at Bushy in 1798, and in 1825, she married Charles Richard Fox, the elder son of Lord and Lady Holland, but in view of the fact that the Parliamentary bill to legitimise their marriage had not been passed in time, Chrales Fox was debarred from succeeding to the Holland title. Previously he had been in love with Lady Elizabeth, Lady Mary's younger sister, but 1820 she had married the Earl of Errol. ^ addition For a time after his marriage /addition Captain Fox acted deletion for a time after his marriage /deletion as aide-de-camp to the Marquis of Hastings in Malta; in 1828 he was given the command of a regiment at Halifax, and on his return to England he exchanged into the Guards.
