Dear Sir,

Tho' I hope to arrive before I make up my letters for England to from you and to have to return the usual papers signed and to answer Yours of 19th instant, yet I take up my pen to recall to Elphick's mind certain things to be done between now and my return.

The moment the East Front is carried Slade is to clean out the Pond in the North Front and as soon as the hay is clear off the Brown House Field the Pidgeon House Basin and the small Pond below it are to be cleared out and also the piece of water remaining between the Great and Little Staves.
