I am to acknowledge Yours of 31st
July and a variety of enclosures. I return the proper
papers signed.
The weather has been most peculiarly fine for the Painters. As for the East and West Fronts there cannot be a doubt but that theymost be compleatly painted. The South Front may require consideration unless the hot and dry weather has killed the various Creepers in which case it ought also to be painted. I am glad the various drains in and about the house have been cleared.
The harvest must be advanced or rather by this time finished and the dry weather has been favourable
