At length the mail of the Sixteenth is arrived and Yours No: 52 and its' various enclosures reached me last night: I return the usual papers signed: as for the three letters respecting the impudent and infamous Allen I have only to observe that I wish to avoid a law suit: but at the same time I should like to frighten or punish this fellow and you will therefore ask Ware what is best to be done: a letter from him might alarm Allen and make him return the Brand: but I should hardly think Ware would recommend proceeding against such a detestable
