St: James's. Decr: 15th: 1820.
Dear Sir,
I am this instant favoured with your kind note and congratulations on the safe delivery of the amiable and excellent Dutchess: the mother and infant thank God are going on as well as possible. I accept with sincere pleasure your wishes for the next being a boy: I have none little doubt but that the Dutchess will become a regular and fortunate mother: God bless and preserve you and ever believe me.
Yours unalterably
William
