Gove has just brought me Yours of yesterday and it's enclosures which I have franked for George: I wish he was more moderate in every way: but I cannot permit him to injure either himself or me by beginning with the great works at the Upper Lodge before I think it prudent: the necessary repairs and perhaps the Bathroom may be done next spring: but the extending the building must depend on circumstances.
