Present addition Diet /addition was summon'd at Ratisbon in 1653. & has continu'd there ever since; tho it might be in any other City of ye Emp-e. ye Emp. if present Presides, if not his first Commissioner does; ye Elec. of Mentz is ye. Director, or Speaker, as Chan. of ye Emp-e; all Papers are therefore sent to a Chan-y which he keeps constantly where ye Diet Assembles. ye Diet is divided into 3 Col yt of ye Elec-s. in which ye Elect. of Mentz directs, not as Chan. but as first Elec. so yt of ye Ps. which contains not only ye Spiritual & Temporal Ps, but also ye Prelates, each of ye Ps. have a vote, but ye Pre. & Counts vote by Benches, each bench has a vote. ye Prelates are divided into addition 2 /addition deletion two /deletion benches, yt of ye Rhine, & yt of Swabia; but ye Counts into 4. viz. ye. All points are first deliberated by ye Elec-s. then by ye Ps. but if they differ; ye directors of both Colleges, & some whom ye colleges name in conjunction with them meet, & if they agree, then ye concurrence of ye third Coll. is demanded, but if they do not, it is engross'd by ye Chancery & given to ye Emp. commissary, as ye opinion of ye Emp-e only at ye end of it is put ye opinion of ye third Coll. then ye Emp. approves it, & it is publish'd in his name as a Resolution of ye Emp-e.
