Convulsions
The cause should be ascertained whether they arise from gripings, or disorders of the Bowels, which they generally do; -- sometimes they arise from fever, or any eruptive disease. -- but in all these cases however the opening the Bowels by Magnesia & Rhubarb, or by powdered Cremor deletion unclear /deletion Tartar will be a safe underline practice. -- /underline
If after opening the Bowels the convulsions continue, underline Warm bathing /underline is an excellent remedy, & if that should fail, underline 10 /underline drops of tincture of Asafoetida, & underline 10 /underline of Spirits of Sal Volatile in a little Water may be repeatedly given. --
