The foresight of man must be in underline proportion to his underline knowledge--
I know not where my ideas of human nature were derived, --they certainly were not the Offspring of my own feelings, --these would have taught me that interest & duty were unclear with every act of generosity, --but I cannot Explain why, deletion unclear /deletion I did not come into the World without my scruples & suspicions;
