I respectfully bring to your
notice the fact that there is a strong necessity for
the issue of antiscorbutics to the Brigade; and
the continued issue of them for some time.
A marked predisposition to Scorbutic mouths
being ascertained to exist some weeks ago
an application was made for the issue of vinegar,
Supposing it to be only obtainable antiscorbutic.
It was promised subject to difficulty of
transportation.
This was not successful: resulting in issue
of vinegar for two successive days.
Condition of the men [?] renders use of
antiscorbutics highly necessary.
Can nothing be done to obtain Potatoes &
Vinegar? Would recommend issue of last
