After dinner we ladies crossed in an Excellent boat to the Island where the old boat House has been turned into a very pretty building and a habitation for one of the Kings Pages who is the underline first /underline of His boats underline Crew /underline. Rowing extremely underline well /underline as do all His Pages that is to say there are six underline strong Pullers /underline who belong to the underline boat /underline all simply and properly dressed, in blue and white striped Jackets and White trousers and Straw hats. The House is very sweet of a yellowish colour with Green Window frames and a spare room for the Company of a good size and some Comfortable Rooms for underline Whitings /underline family. We then walked over an unclear bridge to a little Garden which is beautifully Planted; in which there is a pretty Chinese building consisting of three rooms with a underline Veranda Around /underline, and when (on a windy day or when it is too unclear on the Lake) they place Chairs and fish there quite Sheltered from any inconvenience. The painting is very Soft. free from anything that is gaudy - and papered with the Grey ground and underline Bamboo panels /underline the same as at the Pavilion at Brighton.
