His Majesty walked afterwards, & He was joined in his Walk by Sir Joseph Banks, who came here this day by Appointment - They walk'd through Kew Gardens to those of Richmond - I did not see Sir Joseph at his return, but He left a Message for Me with General Gordon the purport of which was, that He had been particularly well pleased with The King's manner during his Walk, & that it was better, than that which He had opportunity of observing some few days ago.

From Dr. John Willis who walked with The King this morning I learnt, that He had Enter'd on some of the political Subjects on which He had been talking with Lord Weymouth & Lord Stafford, this morning, but He did not mention the particulars to Us.

On H.My. return this Evening from his Visit to The Queen We saw Him as usual in the Antiroom He was not the least hurried - He conversed calmly & in his usual manner on variety of subjects to Us all. Talking to General Gordon of the Duke & Duchess of Gordon, He observed on the latter & with a significant smile to Him underline that She was staunch. /underline

This gave Me an Insight as to the kind of conversations He had had lately, & that He is now forward in that history which has been kept secret from Him so long.
