The King went this Night to bed about 7 oClock, fell asleep soon after & waked at abt. 11, when He insisted on getting up to have his head & feet forwarded, & which for some nights past He had done, but which his precipitate retreat to his bed this Evening had occasioned Him to omit -- As He seem'd very desireous to be indulged in this fancy He was so, & afterwards returned to bed where at intervals He slept some hours, but between them He talked incessantly & incoherently, but in good humour & high spirits, & at times laughed a good deal - His pulse during the Night was about 106.

underline Wednesday Novr. 26th. /underline I left Windsor this Morning being called to Town on business. I returned to The Queens Lodge on Friday Novr. 28th.

On underline Thursday Novr. 27 /underline Doctor Addington arrived at The Queens Lodge, introduced there on the recommendation of the Chatham Family His practice in the Country chiefly & near Reading, had as it has been said successfully directed, & particularly to Maladies of the Mind. He is now Old & indeed nearly superannuated - He made a sad blunder at his first Interview with H.M. by inconsiderately telling Him there would be no impropriety in his seeing the Queen - This slip occasioned much confusion, as The King immediately began to prepare His room for Her reception.

underline Friday Novr.28th. /underline On my return to the Queen's Lodge this day With concern I learnt that no favourable Alteration had taken place in his Majesty's health, during My Absence, & that his disorder remained without abatement - & in some Instances more violence had appeared -- Yesterday (Thursday) all the Cabinet had met at The Queen's Lodge, Lord Camden the President of the Council Excepted
