Know all men by these Presents that I
John Millington of No. 632 Spruce Steet in
Philadelphia, but now staying at La Grange in
the State of Tennessee Do hereby nominate consitutute
and appoint Holloway E. Simmons of La Grange
my full and lawful attorney to transact any
business for me in my absence the same as if
I was present. I authorize and empower the
said Simmons to buy & sell real estate or any
other property for me, and to pay and receive
Rents or other monies and to give receipts in my
name which shall be good and valid, And I
hereby declare that I will ratify and confimr all
bargains or contracts made by said Simmons for
my account as fully as I myself had made
them. This power to be and remain in full force
and effect for the term of one year from the
date when it was entered into by me viz 15th
November 1865 as witness my hand and seal
