You will I fear conclude that my not addressing you sooner has proceeded from Inattention, on my part- but I can readily assure you that has not been the cause - but that it has originated from a variety of Circumstances most unfavorable to my wishes - or even thoughts - that alone has been the cause of my not doing myself the Honor of writing to you, on a Subject which you are not unacquainted with - I can only assure you, my dear Sir, that underline no one Event /underline in my Life - has ever given me more anxiety of Mind - as I find on the separation between Mrs. S. and myself - there are some pecuniary difficultys which compel me - for the present, to
