My Dear Sir

I will certainly be at your orders at the time you mention tomorrow if you continue anxious to the end; but I can have nothing to add to the explicit statement I have already made to you of my general Ideas; & as you already know the underline only ground /underline on which I can entertain any further discussion on the subject on which we conversed, I trust you will not think it necessary to give yourself any further trouble upon it, unless after consulting your colleagues you feel it advisable on underline those grounds /underline to recommend that step being taken from the Highest quarter which I have felt it my duty to represent as an indispensable preliminary to my intering in the formation of any Plan of arrangement. As my opinion on this point cannot admit of alteration, it would be fruitless to resume our discussion if you entertain on your part any Idea of its proceeding on any other Basis.
