underline To make green Pea soup, without Meat or Water /underline

Six Cucumbers scooped and pared & cut thick Toss Lettuce well cleaned & cut a little. five large Onions and a handfull of Parsley. put better then a quarter of a Pound of of Butter in the Soup Pot. to which put the herbs, some pepper, salt and four or five beaten Cloves. Let all these stew slowly together till they have vast all their juice, then strain the Liquor off and have ready boil'd a Pint of old Peas, squeeze these through a seive to the Liquor, then have boiled by themselves six Cucumbers scooped & pared & cut in quarters, three Cabbage Lettuces cut small, these and a pint of young Peas put to the Liquor, & let it all stew very slowly together for near two hours, Bread or Rolls prepared as you would for another Soup, & serve it on it
