Sir

The King did not sleep at all last night. His Majesty had pass'd the day in tranquil good spirits, and we saw no reason to suspect that this would be the case from His Majesty's manner when He retired to His bed chamber. His Majesty looks will, however, to day and tho' He has talk'd with rather more animation sometimes we do not consider Him as under excitement. We should add that His Majesty slept two hours within the course of yesterday.

I am, Sir, most respectfully your Royal Highness' faithful Servant

Henry Halford.
