Sir

The King was very silent, and generally very quiet and composed yesterday - but under a strange ill- founded apprehension that He had not had His dinner, tho' His Majesty had eaten it heartily at His usual hour, He became irritable at bed time, and gave utterance to some expressions of anger. His Majesty soon fell asleep, however, slept three hours in the course of the night, and is calm and tranquil this morning.

I am, Sir, most respectfully your Royal Highness' faithful Servant

Henry Halford

Windsor Castle

June 1st 1815.
